After seeing pics of a vertical garden in Taipei, Taiwan I would really want one in my apartment.
Creating your own vertical garden now looks to be nearer to a reality thanks to a blog post over at apartmenttherapy.com. One of the bloggers over there found an awesome vertical garden setup in a San Diego hotel lobby (Westin Gaslamp quarter) and got the low down on how to create one for yourself.
The awesome looking setup is controlled by a lot of tech behind the scenes.
So it’s got a whole system of pipes hidden and a water tank with a UV filter so grey water can be used. The gardener responsible also mentioned that daily maintenance was required to keep the plants healthy and looking great.
After some research the team at Apartmenttherapy found that you can pickup an all in one system for around $1,100 that provides something on smaller scale as the Westin hotel setup but it still looks awesome.
